The Medical Director FRCOG
The Essex Fertility Centre was founded in 1989 by its' Medical Director, Mr Michael Ah-Moye. Since 1985 he has worked exclusively as a specialist in the field of assisted conception. His initial experience was gained at the IVF Unit, Humana Hospital Wellington, which was the largest and busiest IVF Unit in the country at the time.

When he left in 1989 he was acting Deputy Medical Director. Mr Ah-Moye's enormous experience and expertise in assisted conception has resulted in the delivery of thousands of babies. He has established the highest reputation for his meticulous and personal approach to the management of his patients.

Consultant Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist
Mr Menabawey FRCOG completed his post graduate training in both Egypt and the UK, he also completed a fellowship of the Rockefeller foundation in reproductive physiology and was a Lecturer in Obs and Gyne at St Bartholomew's hospital academic department. He was a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS trust where he established a successful IVF centre and was the person responsible.

Whilst in this post he was Clinical director, implemented ISO 9000 quality program in the maternity department and was elected medical manager of the year by the British Association of Medical Managers. Prior to his post at the Herts and Essex Fertility Centre he was Consultant Gynaecologist, specialist in reproductive medicine and infertility and Medical Director at The London Bridge Fertility, Gynaecology and Genetics Centre.

Mr Menabawey's career has included being:

MRCOG examiner at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
  • Examiner for the GMC PLAB.
  • Honorary Lecture at Durham Medical School.
  • Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority inspector.
Dr. David Ogutu

Consultant Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist
Mr. Ogutu had specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at the Royal Free and North Middlesex University Hospitals, and then advanced training in Assisted Conception, Reproductive Endocrinology and Laparoscopic surgery at Kings College Hospital.

He joined Herts and Essex Fertility Centre in April 2011, and is on the GMC specialist register. His special interests include assisted conception (IVF, ICSI, and IUI), minimal access surgery (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy), early pregnancy care, recurrent miscarriage and PCOS. He also performs advanced gynaecology ultrasound, including HyCoSy, Aqua scan and 3D ultrasound.

He is a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS), European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), and the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG).
